Trulia is a beautiful site. It has neat tools and widgets. But besides the wonderful graphic design, there's something dreadfully, even fatally wrong: not all the listings are there.

Because local brokers must opt-in to share their listings with Trulia and not all local brokers opt-in, the choices provided to consumers at Trulia is an incomplete set. Why would anyone house hunt on a site that doesn't include all the houses?

Until Trulia makes a deal with the mls systems scattered about the country (like realtor.com did), Trulia and their ilk are to be admired strictly for their graphic design and programming.

For all the local listings, use your local broker's idx website. For home valuations and local insight, call a local REALTOR who has been in business for 5+ years.

Not in love with Trulia as it does "do neighborhoods" well at all, in my opinion.

I tested with my neighborhood in Denver and it only shows the official City of Denver neighborhoods which are completely inadequate.

Katherine,

I am a Realtor who has been answering questions for consumers on Trulia since they began that service. I really do not know of a better forum for consumers to get specific answers to specific questions about communities and homes within them. The agents there are extremely responsive, and the content is easy to find. Agents' opinions may differ, but that gives consumers the benefit of hearing more than one side.

Trulia has really done a great job of provided a valuable home search for consumers and they are to be commended for what they have built.
